The short version

  • We only collect the information needed to take and fulfill your order, answer your questions, and (if you opt in) send you occasional product news.
  • We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone except service providers who help us run the site (payment processor, shipping carrier, email service).
  • You can request a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it at any time.
  • You can unsubscribe from marketing emails with one click — every email has a link.

Who we are

This site is operated by Shop RV Parts, a division of Grampa's RV, located at 30686 Matsqui Pl, Abbotsford, BC V2T 6L4, Canada. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, email [email protected].

What we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • When you place an order: Your name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number, and the items you ordered. We currently accept Interac e-Transfer, so no card details ever reach our servers; when we add card checkout, processing will run through a PCI-compliant provider and we still will not store the card number.
  • When you contact us: The information you put in the contact form or quote request — typically name, email, phone, and your message.
  • When you subscribe to our newsletter: Your email address and the page you signed up from. We use Brevo to send marketing emails.
  • When you browse: Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited). We plan to add aggregate analytics (Google Analytics 4) post-launch with a cookie-consent banner; we do not run any analytics or cross-site tracking until then.

Why we collect it

  • To process and ship your order, including telling our shipping carrier where to deliver it.
  • To answer your support, quote, or return requests.
  • To send you order updates (always) and marketing emails (only if you opt in).
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To improve the site — understand which categories and parts customers are looking for.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the site, and only the minimum they need:

  • Payment processor — to charge your card. Our merchant account is with Elavon under our parent business Grampa's RV.
  • Shipping carrier (Canada Post) — to deliver your order.
  • Email service (Brevo) — to send you newsletter emails (only if you subscribe).
  • Hosting (Cloudways / DigitalOcean) — to keep the site running.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4) — pending — aggregate, anonymized usage data only, once we turn it on. Until we add a consent banner, this site is not running GA4.

We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone for any reason.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for seven years to meet Canadian tax and accounting requirements. Newsletter subscriber records are kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept for two years after the last contact. We delete or anonymize everything else once it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy law (PIPA in BC, Law 25 in Quebec, PIPA in Alberta), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccuracies
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails
  • Ask us to delete your account and associated data (subject to our seven-year tax retention requirement on completed orders)

Send any request to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Functional (required) — your shopping cart, login session, and form anti-spam tokens.
  • Analytics (optional) — Google Analytics 4, only if you accept the analytics banner.

You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will sign you out and empty your cart.

Children

Our site is not directed at people under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy materially we will update the date at the top of the page and, for material changes, send a notice to subscribers and post a banner on the site for at least 30 days.
